Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) has been granted recognition by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an accrediting body for the ENERGY STAR Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program. If you already have an ISO 17025 accreditation these protocols can be added to your current 17025 certificate. If you do not have this accreditation, you will achieve it through this program for the specific product tests relative to the ENERGY STAR Program.
The ENERGY STAR program has under gone recent changes this year to better protect and authenticate the validity of the ENERGY STAR Label being applied to any product or service that earns the ENERGY STAR Label. Part of this change is a mandate requiring third party testing of a product by a competent testing laboratory that has been found to be in compliance with the specific ENERGY STAR Testing requirements for that program. This is directly from the EPA website:
By the end of the year, all products will be subject to qualification testing in EPA-approved, accredited labs.”
PJLA is committed to assisting all laboratories to meet this new mandate. We offer a 24-hour quotation process and have available assessors to conduct assessments within a 30-day time line. We have technical support to assist with the final accreditation decision at our headquarters location allowing each laboratory to receive their certificate within a reasonable time period.
If you are a testing lab interested in achieving this accreditation to be part of the new era of the ENERGY STAR program, now is an excellent time to prepare and become educated about the process. We can help. Simply complete our application for a free quote or contact us at
